One of the things I personally have been thinking about, is the possibility of having some sort of Halo “Gladiators”. For those of you who have seen either the American or the British versions, you’ll know what I’m talking about
As this is just an idea, there is nothing concrete in the planning, design, rules etc. of how this would work. But, I’m hoping that there could be a round-robin tournament on maybe Saturdays, over several weeks to determine who is the ultimate Gladiator champion
Here’s where you guys come in - well other than being Contenders and/or Gladiators. If you have any ideas or thoughts on events, “sets” and obviously the Eliminator, post them here or somewhere in our forums. Most of the credit will be given

Many of you will probably have noticed this video from FlemProductions, highlighting the importance of being able to lower guns in machinima production:
However, this cannot be done over Xbox Live. The group Lower the Guns was created to highlight this fact and to gain support for the cause, and to try and get weapon lowering over Xbox Live enabled.
On September 25th, all Lower the Guns members, and participating Clans and websites will be abstaining from Halo 3 for the day in an attempt to get the point across. And as of today, the Rumble Pit World Series will also not be playing on September 25th. We encourage all players, participants and others to not play Halo 3 on that day.
Instead, play Halo 3 the weekend after - hopefully some of us will be settled into college enough to be able to have a special 1-year Halo 3 anniversary tournament thingy!
PS: The fancy permalinks are now working properly on the forums!
PPS: Oops, forgot the link to the LtG group!
Although this is very short notice, but due to the fact some of us are working quarter-end tonight, and thus won’t be back until very late - tonight’s Fireworks game has been pushed back forward to 6pm EST! back to 9pm EST!
Even then, it might still be delayed again, so could start anywhere between around 5.30pm and 7pm EST. This is an unfortunate circumstance which was out of my control up to this point.
Hopefully we will still see you all tonight to blow up some fireworks
EDIT: Time changed again - pushed back instead of forward.
EDIT AGAIN: Alright I guess it’s back to it’s original time due to lack of people getting the message…
NOTE: For those of you coming here from a link on the Riot - it’s already over
Bungie Day is this Monday, so don’t forget to hop on Live, get the free stuff only available for 24 hours, and play some Halo!
For Bungie Day, the RPWS plans to hold a special “Sevens” tournament, starting at around 8pm EST. This special tournament embraces Bungie’s favourite number in several ways:
- 7 parties - There will be 7 parties hosted simultaneously.
- 7 players - Each party will consist of 7 players.
- 7 minutes - Each game will last 7 minutes.
So that’s 49 gamers across 7 parties duking it out. The winners from each party will advance to the final 7-player, 7-minute game, with the winner walking away with a sum of $77!
And yes, I did say $77. I actually have the money to pay for it
All games will be default Slayer on Cold Storage (make sure to download before joining the party!), with no score limit and the aforementioned 7-minute time limit. If you wish to take part, all you need to do is reply here. Players will be divided into the 7 parties based on RPWS seeding.
If more than 49 players want to take part, then the first 49 players will be divided into the parties. Anyone who doesn’t show up in time will be replaced as necessary, starting with the 50th registrar onwards.
Have fun and see you on 7/7!
Notes: The $77 first prize will only be paid via PayPal to the registered e-mail of the victor. The prize is non-transferable. If the victor does not have a PayPal account, they must set one up before they can claim their prize.
At some point over the weekend (maybe Friday night, maybe Saturday night, maybe both, maybe neither), I TheChrisD will be holding Fireworks playtests. These playtests are mainly for testing out the map and gametype, seeing how well they work, whether there are any balance issues, and whether anything needs to be changed. If you want to help out with the playtests, just go look for me online and join my party somehow.
Just don’t clog up my message inbox asking for an invite.
The current versions of the map and gametype will be uploaded to my File Share at some point, hopefully tonight. From the looks of open spots, it’ll probably be Slots 6 and 7.
