In case you were wondering whether you had accidentally set your browser’s zoom function just a little bit too high - well, you haven’t. After a little re-working the site banners, and the RPWS logo have been refined and remade.

The RPWS logo is now clearer and sharper, with more detail than the old incarnation. It’s still the same basic design though, nothing radical going on here

Also there is a bit more height in the banner, showing off a lot more of the really great quality in-game screenshots we have as our banners. If you have a good shot that you think would work well, feel free to post about it in the forums

Regarding the next season, Autumn ‘08, we plan on announcing a start date within the next few weeks. As most of you are probably back in school/college/work or will be by the time the season starts, we’ve pushed back the weekly start time to 5pm Eastern (2pm Pacific, 10pm West Europe). This should suit may more people who would otherwise have to stay away for fear of oversleeping the next morning, or getting yelled at by parents/girl(boy)-friends/significant others.

AdjustantReflex has let us know on our forums that the RPWS is now featured in the ClansConnected community toolbar!

First off, a big thank you to Reflex for adding us, which will help spread the word about us!

Secondly, another big thank you to Reflex for using the forums! Come on people, they’re not there for nothing…

It’s been a while in the works, but the RPWS site and forums have finally been properly integrated with each other! Beforehand, the website and forums had several elements that were unique to each other, but couldn’t be shared between the two. Now though - all functions are usable on both sides

So, the main example of this would be that the online users list and last online status now tracks you on both the website and the forums. Also, in the pipeline is a unified profile screen, profile editing screen, and a few other changes to get the two sections on par with each other.

There may still be a few errors around from clashing of functions (which I found out while writing this post!), so if you find any, please post them here, and we’ll get around to fixing them as quickly as humanly possible!

And don’t forget - Construct tonight at 8pm EST!

Alright, so there’s only been one major change, but it’s major enough that I need to make a big deal out if it. See the address bar? Yup, you’re reading it correctly. It’s not a typo, and you haven’t gone mad. We are now accessed at therpws.com!

As a consequence of the recent domain change, a few things you will need to note:

• All cookies are no longer valid due to the domain change. You will need to log back in again. Don’t forget that it’s one account on both sites, so you can register on the site and use that on the forums and vice versa!
• There will probably be a few links left around pointing to addresses beginning with rpws.thechrisd.com. If you could point them out to me so I can fix them, that’d be a really great help!
• The RSS feeds will probably show old articles as being new because of the domain change. That’s normal!
• You may also want to change your bookmarks as well, just to make it easier and avoid having to be re-directed!

So yea, that’s really it for now. Oh, and a couple of new banners will be added to the randomiser sometime today or tomorrow. Submit your screenshots if you want them up there!

For those of you with a keen eye - you may have noticed the site banner now changes between several different screenshots. We’re accepting your screenshot submissions right now - so if you want to be the face of the RPWS, here’s your chance!

Simply reply here with a link to your Bungie.net screenshot, and if it’s good enough, we’ll make it into a new banner, as well as giving you the credit

There are a few submission guidelines:

• The main focus of the screenshot should be in the middle or left-hand section. If the focus is on the right-hand side of the screenshot, we will flip the image to move the focus into position.
• Ideally, it would be best to have the players with colours other than red or blue, but preferably as long as the focus isn’t on a team objective like a flag or a bomb.
• Make sure there is sufficient space around the focus area for the RPWS logo to be placed.
