Tomorrow night, the RPWS makes a stop off at the home of the Forge - Foundry.
But you won’t be seeing any custom maps here! The games will be held on the default, crate-filled foundry, which always seems to bring in a great fight, no matter what the gametype!
The games will be:
- Slayer - Default FFA, 50 points
- Objective - Hammer KotH - Default Crazy King, Hammer start
- Custom - HeadSWAT - BR/Magnum start, instant kill, only score for headshots
Top 6 going into this gameweek, and guaranteed starting spots in the need to qualify (although the odds of that are very slim!)
- TheChrisD - 902
- CBTS Zeak1 - 816
- CBTS Pennywise1 - 480
- II S1ckN4sty II - 402
- KageTenshi55 - 306
- CBTS Blammo - 303
See you tomorrow night at 8pm EST!
It seems that whenever I’m not around, the rain comes to enforce another rain delay… So, gameweek 4 on Narrows is re-scheduled for tonight, starting sometime between 7pm and 8pm EST.
In the event that I still can’t make it, there’s nothing to say that the rerst of you can’t play the games without me! All the settings are laid out in the gameweek description, and all custom games are described in detail as well. Heck, it’d be really helpful to have another Co-ordinator on the team, that I can rely on to take the reins as party leader if I can’t attend due to force majure…
So yes, tonight 7pm EST for Narrows. Hopefully it will go ahead as planned.
EDIT: Gameweek 4 has been postponed until this either this Friday after the Fireworks game, on Saturday at 7pm EST, or on Sunday before Gameweek 5.
It may be a narrow desolate bridge in the middle of nowhere, but it’s still a stop of the World Series! This weekend sees Narrows taking centre stage. While seeming very small and iconically “narrow”, the pair of mancannons make for some quick traversing from one side to the other, and may an integral part of your strategy!
Gametypes this week:
- Splockets: Rocket/Spartan Laser start, Infinite ammo, Nothing on map, 50 points.
- Ninjaball: Ball carrier has Active Camo, no waypoint. 100 points.
- Spaceman (see Custom Gametypes)
Spacemen are 3 times faster and half as heavy, which means a lot of lying around. Killing with your Energy Sword or Gravity Hammer earns 5 points, with a bonus point for an assassination! But, watch out not to fall off the map, it’s a 2 point penalty! Learning to use your Gravity Hammer to slow yourself down is key! First to 200 wins.
At the head of field going into this gameweek:
- TheChrisD - 650
- CBTS Zeak1 - 542
- CBTS Pennywise1 - 326
- KageTenshi55 - 306
- CBTS Blammo - 303
- II S1ckN4sty II - 288
With several “layers” developing in the standings, can anyone else break away from the pack and challenge the leaders? Be there at 7pm EST this Sunday!
Guardian - Halo 3 launched featuring Guardian as, what some people dubbed “the new Lockout”, due to it’s Lockout-esque traits, like the gravity lift, elbow, and big open centre area. This weekend, the RPWS will make it’s visit to Guardian as part of the season.
This weekend’s gametypes will be:
- Slayer Duals: SMG start, Duals on map, 50 points
- Shotty Snipers KotH: Default Crazy King, Sniper/Shotgun start
- Superball (See Custom Gametypes for ruleset)
Superball’s ball carrier is faster and lighter and has faster shield recharging, but no overshields so watch out! 2 points per second for holding the ball, and a 2 point bonus for a ball kill, but killing the carrier nets you a 10 point bonus! Remeber the carrier’s fast, but not invincible!
The top 5 going into Guardian:
- CBTS Zeak - 542
- TheChrisD - 427
- Piper Doig - 223
- II S1ckN4sty II - 200
- birdflu93 - 186
Can anybody else join the battle at the head of the championship? With Zeak and myself pulling away, will it be a two-horse race until the end or will there be an upset towards the end of the season?
Unfortunately, early reports (and TV schedules) show that there is a 70% chance of rain over The Pit tonight. Several factors are at cause for this possible downpour, which could invoke a rain delay, pushing the second gameweek back:
- Co-ordinator Pennywise being unconfirmed as to availability for 7pm EST.
- Newly promoted co-ordinator AdjustantReflex not knowing about his new position.
- Administrator TheChrisD being unsure whether the gaming room will be free at midnight BST (that’s 7pm EST), due to several conflicting programs and conflicting family members (i.e. the mother taking the TV for another Sex and the City marathon from 9pm to 1.10am BST)
In the event of rain hitting at 7pm, the gameweek will be pushed back to 9pm EST, and the situation again assessed. If rain is still falling, the gameweek will be postponed until Monday night at 7pm EST.
Yes, I tried to make this a little humourous, and a little bit like the real-life rain delays you get in oval racing. We’ll see what the story is later on tonight.
