Sun, Aug 3 2008 20:46:41 EST Warehouses have closing times?

Trying to be positive about forced delays is hard… Unfortunately, as you can probably see, we were unable to get the new season going last night - owing to lack of co-ordinator. It seems Mr. Reflex still doesn’t have his 360 back, and thus can’t take on his role of co-ordinator just yet.

As such, the game will be delayed and played tomorrow night instead. Right now, there isn’t a set co-ordinator (which will hopefully change by tomorrow!) for the game, but if any of you want to take it on yourselves to host the gameweek, feel free :)
Just make sure to get the maps and gametype from my file share (Slots 19-21), post the links to the games so we can get the results, and save the films! We’d appreciate the replays so we hopefully can make some sort of highlight reel.

Also, another new note. If you are interested in playing in the gameweek, send a freind request to RPWS Members. That Gamertag is the port of call for all RPWS participants, so if everyone playing is on it, then there are no problems getting in touch with the players on the night :)

Fri, Aug 1 2008 08:13:49 EST Forging the way!

The time is nearly here! This weekend sees the start of the ‘08 Summer Season 2, and starting off the season is Foundry. The most sacred home of the Forge, Foundry is the home to many popular and successful custom maps, but we’re just sticking with the default array of crates, boxes, the forklift and the truck ;)

Last season, Zeakk took near maximum points available with 2 wins from 3 and 285 points. However, still missing those elusive Objective game victories, can the clean slate for the season and the new points scoring system allow others to take an early season lead and make up some ground in the All-Time rankings?

Gametypes

Slayer: Slayer BRs - BR start
Objective: KotH Duals - SMG start, dual-wieldable weapons on map
Custom: HeadSWAT - SWAT settings, Instant Kill, Headshot scoring only

Quals

Being the start of a new season, obviously there is no current Top 6 players exempt from qualifying (if it takes place, of course). Since this is the case, the Top 6 rule is based on last season’s overall points.

Party

Once again, the party will be started the same way as before. TheChrisD will start the party and invite players first from the RPWS Members XBL friends list, and then individual invites for anyone else who wants to play. If you’re not on the list on the night and still want to play, send an Xbox Live message to TheChrisD - don’t try to post on the forums, because they won’t be checked all that much.

The possible hosts may change depending on how the search for a full-time co-ordinator goes.

See you all, this Sunday, August 3rd at 8pm EST!

Fri, Jul 18 2008 05:21:42 EST Forerunner double-header

This weekend sees a Forerunner double-header, with Epitaph and the repeat of Construct (after the disappointing turnout last week).

Epitaph is one of the smallest maps on the series’ tour and should see a lot of close-quarters action! But, keep in mind the two levels, the gravity platform, and the fact that you can fall off the edge!

Epitaph games:

  • Slayer: Slayer Covie - Carbine/Plasma Rifle start, 50 points
  • Objective: Default Mosh Pit - 150 points
  • Custom: Assassins - Full settings under Custom Gametypes

Also, there will be a repeat of last weekend’s Construct games on either Saturday night at 8pm EST, or Sunday night at 8pm, with Epitaph starting afterwards. If most of the competitors from last week show up at the repeat, then the repeat will be considered the official results and net full points (as well as counting towards the All-Time standings). If not, the repeat will be for half points and will not count towards the All-Time.

Hope to see you all either Saturday or Sunday night at 8pm EST!

Fri, Jul 11 2008 10:49:11 EST In the name of the Forerunner

This weekend, the Rumble Pit World Series will be making a stop off at the floating Forerunner installation that is Construct. With several different levels and wide open places to fall to your death, who will prevail on this tricky canvas?

Games for the weekend:

  • Slayer: FFA Snipers - Sniper/Magnum start, snipers on map, 50 points
  • Objective: Fiestaball - Random weapons on start and on map, 100 points
  • Custom: Weaknaut - See Custom Gametypes for full settings

Top 6 going into the gameweek - who are exempt from qualifying in the very unlikely scenario that we get more than 16 people wanting to play!

  1. TheChrisD - 1117
  2. CBTS Zeak1 - 1101
  3. CBTS Pennywise1 - 713
  4. CBTS Blammo - 451
  5. II S1ckN4sty II - 402
  6. KageTenshi55 - 306

See you all Sunday at 8pm EST :)

Sat, Jul 5 2008 22:33:24 EST The home of the Forge

Tomorrow night, the RPWS makes a stop off at the home of the Forge - Foundry.
But you won’t be seeing any custom maps here! The games will be held on the default, crate-filled foundry, which always seems to bring in a great fight, no matter what the gametype!

The games will be:

  • Slayer - Default FFA, 50 points
  • Objective - Hammer KotH - Default Crazy King, Hammer start
  • Custom - HeadSWAT - BR/Magnum start, instant kill, only score for headshots

Top 6 going into this gameweek, and guaranteed starting spots in the need to qualify (although the odds of that are very slim!)

  1. TheChrisD - 902
  2. CBTS Zeak1 - 816
  3. CBTS Pennywise1 - 480
  4. II S1ckN4sty II - 402
  5. KageTenshi55 - 306
  6. CBTS Blammo - 303

See you tomorrow night at 8pm EST!
